We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Data Governance Engineer to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data governance strategies and frameworks to ensure the quality,
security, and compliance of our organization's data assets.
The Senior Technical Data Governance Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving data governance initiatives,
collaborating with cross-functional teams, and enhancing our data management practices.
*Responsibilities:*
- Develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data integrity, privacy, and security across the organization.
- Design and manage metadata management processes to enable data lineage, data cataloging, and data discovery.
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to define data governance requirements, and translate them into technical solutions.
- Create and maintain data dictionaries, data classifications, and data quality metrics to monitor and improve data accuracy.
- Establish and enforce data access controls, data retention policies, and data archiving strategies in compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Lead data stewardship efforts by identifying and engaging data owners, stakeholders, and custodians to drive accountability for data quality and ownership.
- Develop and implement data governance workflows, including data issue tracking, resolution, and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify gaps in data governance practices and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and other technical teams to integrate data governance practices into the development lifecycle.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data governance and data management.
*Qualifications:*
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality principles, and data privacy regulations.
- Proficiency in data management tools, metadata management solutions, and data cataloging platforms.
- Hands-on experience with data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, or similar.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Relevant certifications in data governance, data management, or related fields are a plus.
